30-day challenge without complaint

This idea was born from two Dutch-speaking Belgians, Greet Van Hecke and Isabelle Gonnissen, who chose to launch the “30 days without complaint” challenge to help us see life in a more optimistic way.

30-day challenge without complaint
According to the two young women, people cannot live a positive life with a negative state of mind. Through the 30-day challenge without complaint, they want to inspire and encourage people to take a positive approach to life. Jo Vandeurzen, the Flemish Minister of Welfare, supports this idea 100%, because there is scientific evidence that negativity has a negative impact on health.

To stop complaining, here are some tips, because it can be difficult to do so without any outside help.

How could I not complain?
1. You can stop complaining by focusing on something other than the one you are focusing on. Focusing drives our emotions.

2. We all experience negative and positive moments in our lives, we all have worries or problems to deal with. You should remember in your negative moments that it is positive that can lead you to a better life.

3. When you complain, ask yourself if there is someone who is not as well as you. There is a good chance that this is the case. You should be grateful for the things you already have. Many people on Earth, for example, lack electricity and hot water.

4. One way to reduce or eliminate the urge to complain is to say to yourself that if you want to do great things you should never complain and never explain yourself. Take full responsibility for your life. “It is not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country. John F Kennedy. Take control of your life and cultivate your own destiny.

5. Stop complaining, through gratitude. If you are in gratitude, you can’t complain. If you complain, try to see in what puts you in this state a positive side.

6. One of the essential solutions to complain less during your day is to take responsibility for how you feel. What do you want to feel? By taking this responsibility you learn to stop this complaint process and by doing so you begin to see positive differences in your life. It takes training, it’s something to develop.

7. Don’t think I have to do this anymore, think instead I’m going towards it. This small change of words has a great influence. Try to notice a noticeable change in your state of mind.

8. Start the day by thinking about all the things you enjoy in life. The way you start your day has a big influence on how it unfolds. So the better you start it, the less you complain afterwards.

9. Be aware that it is too simple to react to all the things that seem frustrating without ever realizing that you are not always directly responsible for this. Circumstances make things sometimes complicated. You don’t need to hurt yourself by abusing your mind.

10. There are many ways to see life and its beauty, but in our lives and in this complicated world we may tend to forget it. We are humans and the slightest unpleasant thing can make us nervous. One way to stop complaining is to see these bad things that happen in your life, these criticisms, these mistakes, these injustices as an opportunity to change. This will give you the opportunity to prevent this from happening again.

11. There are several ways to stop complaining, or at least limit it. Remember that when you judge things, if you judge them wrong, you will complain. By stopping judging you, stop complaining. Easy, isn’t it?

12 When you complain, you spend your energy unnecessarily, except to give yourself a headache. The more you complain, the more you want to complain, generating new negative thoughts, leading you to complain again, spending more energy on you, until you are comfortable in this state of mind. It’s a hell of a gear.

We all complain to varying degrees, but always remember the good things you have, despite the problems. Remember that you are wonderful even when you don’t feel it that way. Simply become aware of what is going on in your life, the people who love and appreciate you, will help you stop complaining.
