John and Polly Sparks Fellowship for Early Career Psychologists

The John and Polly Sparks Early Career Grant supports early career psychologists who conduct research in the field of early intervention and the treatment of severe emotional disorders in children.

The John and Polly Sparks Foundation has partnered with the APF to empower early career psychologists to produce scientifically based research and programs that could provide models for large-scale applications across the country.

The APF will award three grants of up to $ 20,000 and one grant of up to $ 19,000.

Evaluation criteria

Proposals will be evaluated on:

  • Compliance with program objectives and qualifications.
  • Quality and impact of the proposed works.
  • Innovation and contribution to the field with the proposed project.
  • Demonstrated skill and ability of the applicant to perform the proposed work.

Eligibility

The medjouel.com team informs you that the candidates must be psychologists at the start of their career (no more than 10 postdoctoral years with a diploma from an accredited university).

Proposal requirements

  • Title and description of the proposed project to include the objective, relevant context, target population, methods and expected results. Please include the following (do not exceed five pages, 1 inch margins, 11 point Times New Roman / Garamond font, single space):
    • Relevant context, literature review, specific objectives, importance
    • Methods section (must be detailed enough so that the design, evaluations and procedures can be evaluated)
    • Implications section
  • Schedule of the proposed project (not exceeding 1 page)
  • Detailed budget and justification (not to exceed 1 page)
  • Two letters of support.
  • CV (10 page max)

The length of the proposal,   including the schedule and budget,   can be up to 7 pages, not including references.
