ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT
The medjouel.com team informs you that the volunteer will live in a shared house in Tournai with 3 other ESC volunteers (placed in kindergarten). Each volunteer will have their own room and will share the kitchen, the bathroom, … with the other volunteers. The crèche, located in Tournai, is easily accessible on foot. All volunteers receive a monthly allowance for food and pocket money.
TRAINING DURING THE PROJECT
“L’Enfance de l’Art” is a non-profit association whose aim is to help parents get more involved in the education of their children. To this end, it has set up crèches, a kindergarten and a school using the Loczy & Steiner pedagogies. An informal training day will be organized (end of August) to present the alternative pedagogies used on the project. The volunteers will then have the opportunity, during their internship, to deepen this subject through the weekly meeting and exchange. Don’t be afraid to live a repetitive daily routine and spend time outside in all weathers.
VOLUNTEER PROFILE
The crèche uses the Loczy & Steiner pedagogies. – The Loczy pedagogy respects the child as a whole and develops his autonomy, which requires observation skills to meet their real needs at the right time – The Steiner pedagogy brings more contact with nature and creativity, which also requires working outside twice a day and managing an activity that children can imitate. Great care is taken in the gestures, speech and movements of adults. It is important to be willing to work with children under the age of 3 and to have related qualities (gentle, patient, helpful, attentive, responsible, creative, empathetic, flexible, etc.)
