Job description

Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoc position in bioinformatics at the Oslo Centre for Bioinformatics, Department of Informatics, University of Oslo.

No one can be appointed for more than one Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Oslo.

Starting date as soon as possible.

During the two years of employment, the researcher will be responsible for data analytics infrastructure, data management of the available data in the project, and be involved in analysis of these data.

The postdoc will facilitate infrastructure and cross-border genetic and phenotype data consistency, facilitate and participate for big data analytics in comorbidity and trajectory analytical approaches, and towards prediction/stratification. The project is part of a H2020 project funded by the European Union, “CoMorMent, Predicting comorbid cardiovascular disease in individuals with mental disorder by decoding disease mechanisms”.

The project will help identify genetic determinants and pathological mechanisms of comorbid cardiovascular disease in mental disorders and its relationship to behavior and unhealthy lifestyle.  The postdoc will work with the secure Nordic data infrastructure (Tryggve) supporting cross-site analyses, and participate in the data management and analysis of large available data to contribute important insight to the field, supported by publications in leading scientific journals.
