The Description
The Department of Communication Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University is currently seeking applications for a nine-month term position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing 15 August 2020. The Department offers a nationally renowned Bachelor of Public Relations with co-operative education, a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) program, as well as graduate programs in Public Relations and Communication. Applicants should have a PhD in communication, public relations, or a related field although applicants with a Master’s degree or other equivalent qualification and relevant professional experience may also be considered. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to teach public relations courses in areas such as digital communication and communication planning. Experience teaching in online classrooms will also be considered an asset, as will professional experience in Public Relations practice. Through their own teaching experience, the successful candidate will illustrate dedication to the Department’s mission statement and commitment to “excellence in teaching, research and service, in a learning environment that develops creative, ethical, and engaged world citizens who will contribute to communication, scholarship and practice.”
