2-YEAR LIMITED-TERM FACULTY POSITION in HUMAN ANATOMY

The Faculty of Health Sciences invites applications for a 2-year Limited-Term teaching faculty position. The successful candidate will be appointed to the School of Kinesiology (https://www.uwo.ca/fhs/kin/) which is one of six Schools in the Faculty (Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Studies, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering dynamic functional human anatomy education primarily at the undergraduate level that is fundamental to anatomy curriculum across the Faculty of Health Sciences. Principal duties will include the teaching of anatomy courses, and the development of specialized courses in the anatomical field that meet the emerging needs of the programs. These courses will be developed in consultation with School-based curriculum committees in the Faculty and will build a foundation of practical anatomical education.

Candidates must hold a PhD in an anatomical or related field and will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence and varied experiences in teaching in human anatomy and demonstrate enthusiasm for quality and innovative educational practices. Ideally, the successful candidate will also have teaching experience in related fields such as neuroanatomy, histology and functional/clinical anatomy. The candidate will also have demonstrated expertise in traditional and flexible learning environments, including active learning spaces and scholarship in anatomy teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in relevant service to the School, and the Faculty of Health Sciences. This will include oversight of anatomy lab facilities. The effective date of the appointment is July 1, 2020 or as negotiated.
