Teaching position in the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences

The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya’s Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences is currently working on developing new proposals for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and for short update courses on digital education. As we are seeking someone who can contribute to these objectives, the candidate may be required to teach in these continuing professional development programmes as well as bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, and to contribute to the development and deployment of the new programmes. For this reason, versatility within the field of education will be considered a plus. Training and professional experience in the field of learning and technology – particularly relating to technical-pedagogical design for blended and online learning environments – will be valued highly.

The person selected will join the UOC Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences’ teaching team.

Responsibilities:

UOC faculty, in their respective fields of expertise, promote and direct distance learning. Particular attention must be given to the preparation of programmes of study, course contents and teaching materials, as well as the supervision and coordination of students’ learning processes.

The successful candidate will be awarded an open-ended, full-time contract. Scheduled start date: to be discussed once the candidate has been selected.

The place of work will be the UOC’s 22@ centre, Rambla del Poblenou 156, Barcelona.

What we are looking for:

  • PhD in education sciences, psychology of education, or similar.
  • University teaching experience, teaching courses on education, pedagogy and educational technology.
  • Professional experience (also possibly research-related) in the technical-pedagogical design of courses.
  • Training and professional experience in the technical-pedagogical design, development, implementation and evaluation of courses, activities, resources and online learning environments.
  • Excellent level of Catalan and Spanish.
  • English language skills of at least CEFR level B2, i.e. First Certificate equivalent.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • High level of initiative, and ability to work in innovative environments.
  • A continuous improvement approach.
  • Strong digital skills, especially in the field of teaching.

Also of interest:

  • Teaching and research merits in the field of interest.
  • Accreditations from university quality agencies (e.g. AQU, ANECA).
  • Experience teaching in blended and/or online learning environments.
  • Experience in specific areas of teaching (preferably STEM).
  • Experience in active teaching methods.
  • Experience in the field of educational innovation.
  • Experience in the context of continuing professional development for educators in different social and organizational environments.
  • Experience of networking and managing groups.
  • Experience managing training projects.
  • Experience researching in the field of technology-mediated learning.
