Senior Research Scientist: Development, Stem Cell and Imaging

Professor Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is looking for a senior research scientist to investigate mechanisms of self-organisation during early mammalian development using embryos and stem cells as models. Expert knowledge in fluorescent live microscopy (eg. light sheet, 2photon) and image analyses is absolutely required. In addition to conducting her/his own experiments, the candidate will be in charge of training people and will play a managerial role in the lab.

Recently the lab developed unique methods for studying embryos and for building embryo-like structures from stem cells (Bedzhov and Zernicka-Goetz, Cell 2014; Harrison et al Science 2017; Shahbazi et al Nature 2017; Sozen et al, Nature Cell Bio, 2018; Kyprianou et al, Nature 2020). For more information about the lab, please look here: https://zernickagoetzlab.caltech.edu

Inquiries regarding this post can be made to Prof Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz (magdaz@caltech.edu) and PA. Kara Murphy (kmurphy@caltech.edu)
