Increasing digitalization and new technical possibilities offer great opportunities for effective, safe and high-quality medical care. At the same time, a major challenge is to set the right course early in the development process of innovative treatment methods for later broad application in the health care system. The main task of the newly established W3 professorship for implementation research with a focus on Digital Health is to establish and maintain a standardized pipeline for the prioritization, evaluation and implementation of the most relevant innovations in the field of Digital Health. This includes the systematic integration of the perspective of different user groups early in the development process, the evaluation of the effectiveness, safety and cost-effectiveness of simple and complex digital health interventions with the methods of evidence-based medicine, and the investigation and support of the implementation of appropriate interventions and procedures in mainstream care.

The advertised professorship will head the Implementation Research Department at the EKFZ and the Digital Health Group at the Center for Evidence-Based Health Care (ZEGV) of Dresden University Medicine. We are looking for an innovative personality with international experience in the field of evidence-based health care, implementation research and digital health. In addition to proven international publication activity, references to the clinical focus areas of oncology, metabolic diseases and / or neurological and psychiatric diseases of Dresden University Medicine, practical clinical experience and proven methodological expertise in the areas of evidence-based medicine and health economics are desirable.

We are looking for an innovative personality who is willing to initiate an active research agenda in the field of implementation research with a focus on Digital Health and who enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, engineers, economists and social scientists on campus. The willingness and ability to teach courses in English and German to participate in academic self-administration are expected. You will advise the innovation teams of the EKFZ and jointly drive the implementation of the new solutions. The professorship is also responsible for shaping public debate and providing scientific policy advice.
