The BRI conducts cutting-edge research in the areas of thrombosis, hemostasis, and vascular biology; transfusion medicine; molecular and cellular immunology, including immunotherapy; and hematopoietic stem cell biology and related cancers. The BRI is strategically located on the campus of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, allowing for collaborative relationships with Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Wisconsin, and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), where faculty hold appointments in their related areas.

In this multi-faceted role, the Director will serve as a core member of the senior leadership team, setting the strategic vision for growing all basic, clinical, and translational research and overseeing its implementation across the research enterprise.
