The Special Scholarship Program (SSP) was established in 2003 to support the development of advanced research at the university through the contribution of highly competent doctoral students. Through the 3-year program , Kochi University of Technology (KUT) offers comprehensive education in a multidisciplinary environment. Every year, KUT is recruiting around 15 selected PhD students to work in specific research projects. Each student follows a doctoral training in English while assisting his host professor in his research projects and receiving a monthly payment in return for his contribution to the projects. This program is intended for those who have the firm intention of engaging in their research projects during the three yearswhole, acquiring in-depth knowledge and skills as well as the ability to become a full-fledged researcher and aspire to fulfill the degree requirements accordingly. It is designed to help diligent and talented students with limited financial resources, especially international students from emerging countries, who are ready to devote themselves to the expected research and related studies for the next three years in order to finally achieve their academic goal. .
