The Center for In Vivo Imaging and Therapeutics (CIVIT) provides cutting-edge preclinical imaging technology and related services to support research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We are seeking an industrious, self-motivated Researcher to join our in vivo imaging and therapeutics team.

The successful candidate will work with scientists and other research personnel, supporting a wide array of pharmacology and efficacy studies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research-related tasks and procedures including bioluminescence imaging, high resolution ultrasound, and surgical procedures for specified research projects.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the department, maintaining efficient laboratory operations.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific area is required

Minimum Experience

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • At least one year hands-on experience in academic research setting, veterinary or animal sciences.
  • Proficiency in murine husbandry and handling, various routes of administration, and tissue harvesting.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and aseptic surgical techniques.
  • Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Meticulous record keeping, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and offer solutions.
  • Prior experience with bioluminescence, ultrasound, or related imaging technologies preferred.
