This is a full-time position involving teaching at the bachelor, master and post-graduate levels including the supervision of master theses and doctoral dissertations. The major emphasis of this open position in marketing will be on consumer behaviour in order to complement the current research profiles within the Institute of Management. Thus, the candidate should have a strong foundation in consumer behavior both in research and in teaching. Preferably, the candidate conducts research related to the GSEM’s strategic areas such as sustainability and data analytics. The successful candidate will actively contribute to research and teaching activities of the GSEM in the area of marketing. Teaching obligations include courses at the Bachelor and Master levels, such as in the new MSc in Responsible Management and MSc in Business Analytics programs. The candidate is also expected to engage in the GSEM’s community, to actively collaborate with its various stakeholders, and to contribute to initiatives of the School.

Candidate profile: The candidate must hold a PhD in marketing (or equivalent) and should have a demonstrated track-record or the potential for conducting research in marketing. The candidate should be capable to publish in top-tier journals and to acquire advanced research grants (e.g., from the Swiss National Science Foundation and EU). The candidate should have experience and interest in teaching foundational and advanced courses at all levels in areas such as consumer behaviour, digital marketing, or marketing analytics. Experience in teaching in executive education programs will be a plus. The candidate is expected to teach in English, and the ability to teach in French is an advantage.

Starting date: September 1st, 2022 or on a later date upon agreement.
