At the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, we are offering from July 1st, 2022 for the duration of 3 years

14 job positions as a scientist with PhD qualification (m-f-d)

Based on a part-time contract (65%).

The salary is based on the German civil service pay scale (TV-L) and depends on the individual qualification and experience up to salary group 13 TV-L.

The Research Training Group RTG2155 ProMoAge is located in different institutions of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, the University Hospital Jena and the Leib-niz Institute for Age Research – Fritz Lipmann Institute, Jena, Germany. A group of internationally renowned researchers provides unique opportunities to develop scientific careers in a vibrant scientific environment. The aim of the Research Training Group (RTG) is to investigate post-translational modifications (PTMs) of cellular proteins as a key mechanism of ageing. In particular, the influence of enzymatically and non-enzymatically induced PTMs on ageing-relevant signalling proteins as well as epigenetic and transcriptional regulation is being investigated.

Tasks:

  • Application of techniques in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry within the subprojects of the RTG
  • Presentation and publication of scientific data

Required qualifications:

  • Diploma/Master degree (or equivalent) in biogerontology, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biophysics and related areas.
  • Excellent English communication and writing skills
  • High motivation and passion for research, experience in research, active participation in the graduate pro-gramme and the readiness to take the extra step of an interdisciplinary approach towards a PhD.
