    • Salary Academic Level A ($93,413 – $100,269) or B ($105,548 – $125,341) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

    • Based at the Bundoora campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the Role

The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy. It is expected that you will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.

The Research Fellow will carry out independent and/or team research that has a significant impact in the area of your specialisation and be acknowledged at a national level as being influential in expanding the knowledge of your relevant discipline.

About You

To be successful for Level A appointment, you will have:

    • Excellent track record and high-quality research outputs in one or more of the following areas: (1) design and construction of innovative structures; (2) digital design for free-form architecture; (3) high-performance computation, cloud computing, computer programming and graphic user interface; (4) robotic fabrication and advanced manufacturing technologies.

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a research team and independently when required, to meet project outcomes and milestones.

    • Ability to supervise higher degree by research students.

In addition to the above, to be successful for Level B appointment, you will have:

    • Experience to supervise higher degree by research students.

    • Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate research funding through effective liaison with industry and government.

    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills appropriate for interacting with research students, staff and external stakeholders, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications:

Level A: Completed, or will complete within the next six months, PhD in relevant field.

Level B: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
