Postdoctoral Scholar – PHAST Alzheimer – The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC)

We will use multidisciplinary approaches including cell culture and both acute (AAV-injected) and chronic mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease Candidate will be responsible for performing all the experiments proposed for this project, including mouse learning memory behaviors, Western blot analysis and qRT-PCR, quantitative histology and RNAseq analysis. Perform research in mouse tauopathy models to test OTULIN inhibitor compound in different aspects of neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration (e. g., tau protein modifications and degradation), behaviors, and quantitative histology.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. on Molecular Neuroscience or Neuropharmacology. Preference is given to a candidate with
fresh Ph.D. degrees (within 1 yr of graduation). Should have prolific experience in studying molecular and cellular
mechanism of neurodegeneration.

Prior scientific background in Alzheimer’s disease, inflammation and dementia research is strongly preferred . The
selected candidate will have good communication skills and will be responsible for data presentation in lab meeting
Salary will be commensurate with experience and generally matching to NIH guideline.The
