The A * STAR Scholarship in Computer and Information Sciences (ACIS) was launched in November 2018 to attract the best talent to pursue a doctorate in the disciplines of computer and information science (CIS).
ACIS Fellows will have invaluable opportunities to research real-world problems across the spectrum of computing, from deep learning to healthcare, data analysis for better machine learning, to modeling and simulation for advanced applications.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
- Be Singaporeans and other nationals intending to acquire Singaporean nationality
- Meet the criteria and obtain admission to a doctoral program * in one of the following schools:
- NTU School of Computer Science and Engineering
- NUS School of Computer Science
- SMU School of Information Systems
- Technology and Design Pillar of SUTD Information Systems
- Have obtained at least a 2nd higher specialized baccalaureate or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Strong interest in pursuing a research career in industry R&D laboratories, technology companies, spin-off companies and / or universities
* Applicants for thematic programs who apply or who have been admitted to schools / departments other than the 4 specified CIS schools may be considered for the ACIS scholarship if their doctoral project is in CIS, on a case-by-case basis.
The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A * STAR may include additional selection criteria depending on the scholarship policies in effect. These policies are subject to change from time to time without notice.
BLANKET
Successful applicants will receive the following support * for up to four years:
- Full tuition fees
- Monthly subsistence allowance and CPF contribution (if applicable) according to the employer contribution rate in force ^

Note:
* All rates / allowances are subject to adjustments by A * STAR from time to time.
^ Non-Singaporean academics and permanent residents of Singapore will receive the following from the date of Singapore citizenship:
(i) Monthly living allowance at the rate applicable to Singaporean citizens;
(ii) CPF monthly contribution.
Post-doctoral opportunity:
ACIS scholarship recipients are eligible to apply for the international A * STAR scholarship , which provides up to 2 years of financial support for post-doctoral training in a leading laboratory or institution abroad.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The application cycle is aligned with university admissions in August or January of each year, as follows.

Applicants must simultaneously apply for admission to a doctorate at the intended university.
Please note that the choice of doctoral director (s), project and university of the selected candidates is subject to approval by A * STAR.
