Brazilian Government Study Scholarship (PEC-G) for students from developing countries

The Brazilian government’s exchange program is open to students from developing countries.

This scholarship is awarded to deserving applicants to pursue undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies at any Brazilian Higher Education Institution (HEI).

The PEC-G is administered by the Ministry of External Relations (MRE), through the Educational Themes Division (DCE), and the Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with higher education institutions across the country.

BENEFITS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship will cover all expenses, including international travel, accommodation and living expenses, as well as a monthly grant estimated between US $ 400 and US $ 600.

THE ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS OF THESE SCHOLARSHIPS

To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and no more than 23 years old

  • Must have obtained a baccalaureate (at least a passable mention, an average mark of at least 60% obtained)

  • Must have attended high school in a country other than Brazil

  • Must present proof of ability to pay living expenses in Brazil for the 1st year.

  • Must obtain the CELPE-Bras certificate of mastery of the Portuguese language after the 1st year in Brazil.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply, undergraduate applicants ( PEC-G ) should refer to the Brazilian Embassy in their country to complete the application forms and submit the required documents.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Original and copy of the secondary school transcript (Lycée) or equivalent,

  • Copy of secondary school completion certificate (Lycée), Baccalaureate or equivalent,

  • Copy of the Celpe-Bras certificate or proof of registration for the Celpe-Bras exam,

  • Copies of the birth certificates of the candidate and of both parents,

  • Original of the physical and mental health certificate issued within three months preceding the request.

  • English certificates (TOEFL, TOEIC,…) are not required.

  • The Passable mention of the Baccalaureate is accepted

SELECTION CALENDAR

  • Application deadline: September 30, 2020.

  • Selection Committee Meeting: November 17-20, 2020.

  • Publication of the result of the preliminary selection on the DELP website: November 30, 2020.

  • Announcement of final result: December 18, 2020.
