The Hagström-Andersson research group (1-4), Division of Clinical Genetics, Lund University (5), is announcing two 24-month postdoctoral scholarships with a focus on 1) functional studies of leukemia-associated genetic changes and 2) high-resolution genomic studies, at the single-cell level, starting in March 2020 (or upon agreement).
Postdoctoral scholarship
We are looking for two skillful, ambitious and highly motivated postdocs to join the Hagström-Andersson´s research group, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Lund University, Sweden. The overarching purpose of this project is to unravel the pathogenetic mechanisms involved in hematopoietic cell transformation using a combination of genomic approaches and murine genetic models. More specifically, by using high-resolution genomic studies, also at the single-cell level and in vivo models, our goal is to gain new knowledge on how leukemia arise and best should be treated. One fellowship focus on functional characterization of leukemia-associated genetic changes using a combination of in vitro work, leukemia mouse models, and high-resolution genomic studies and the other on high-resolution genomic studies of primary acute leukemia at the single-cell level.
The Hagström-Andersson research group
Our research group performs cutting-edge research recently published in well renowned scientific journals (Nature Genetics, Nature Communications, and Leukemia). All equipment, including advanced cell sorters and next generation sequencing are available, as well as in vivo experimental models, providing a solid base for our research.

Qualifications required
We are looking for highly motivated scientists with a suitable research background. Applicants are expected to have recent first author publications in internationally renowned peer-reviewed journals. Previous experience from research on cancer or hematopoietic malignancies is required. Further, previous experience of animal work and in-vitro work, or next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics analysis of resultant data, preferably also at the single-cell level, is a strong merit. Note that your background should match the fellowship that you apply for. The applicant should not have been employed by Lund University within the last two years in order to be able to receive a scholarship. The PhD degree should not be more than three years old at the last day of applying. Applicants close to finishing up their PhD studies are also welcome to apply. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team is essential.
