Note: Only full-time MSc candidates are eligible for scholarships.

Lee Foundation RSIS Scholarship

The Lee Foundation RSIS Scholarships are open to Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents and international candidates to pursue a full-time Master of Science programme at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should have an excellent academic record a very good command of the English Language.

Terms and Conditions

Each scholarship is tenable for one year only for full-time MSc (Asian Studies), MSc (International Political Economy), MSc (International Relations) and MSc (Strategic Studies) programmes. Successful candidates are expected to complete their studies within the tenable period. There is no employment bond attached to the scholarship.

Each scholarship shall cover the following:

  • A monthly stipend;
  • Tuition and other compulsory fees (as specified by NTU).

Bakrie Centre Foundation Graduate Fellowship

RSIS welcomes applications for the Bakrie Graduate Fellowships. Bakrie Graduate Fellowships are open to Indonesian students as well as students from other Southeast Asian countries.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should have an excellent academic record with a GPA of at least 3.50/4 or equivalent, good command of the English language and be assessed to have outstanding potential for leadership in government, business, or civil society after graduation.

Terms and Conditions

Each Fellowship is tenable for one-year only for full-time students in the program. The successful candidate is expected to complete his/her studies within the tenable period.

Each scholarship shall cover the following:

  • A monthly stipend;
  • Tuition and other compulsory fees (as specified by NTU)

Terrorism Analyst Study Award

A number of Terrorism Analyst Study Awards will be offered each academic year. Full time international and local students enrolled in any of the MSc programmes are eligible to apply, subject to selection by the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR). All terrorism study award recipients shall conduct research at the ICPVTR while pursuing their MSc Programmes over two academic years.

Terms and Conditions

Successful applications will be required to do at least 3 electives modules selected by ICPVTR from the Certificate in Terrorism Studies (CTS) track and also write their dissertation on a terrorism-related topic. Applicants not opting to do the dissertation will be required to do at least 4 selected elective modules from the CTS track.

Each Study Award shall cover the following:

  • A monthly stipend; and
  • Tuition and other compulsory fees (as specified by NTU)

Student Research Assistantship

A number of Student Research Assistantships will be awarded each academic year. These are only for selected full-time students enrolled in any of the MSc programmes. Student Research Assistants assist RSIS Faculty in a wide range of activities pertaining to research. There is no bond attached to the Student Research Assistantship.

Terms and Conditions

As a Student RA you may not accept paid employment or hold concurrently any other scholarship, fellowships, bursary or top-up allowance without prior approval of the Head (Graduate Studies) of the School. You must ensure that you do not have any outstanding obligations in relation to any scholarship, grant, subsidy or similar award that you may have been given previously by any other organization, such as employment bonds or undischarged financial damages, before you accept this offer from the School.

Each Student Research Assistantship shall cover the following:

  • A monthly stipend; and
  • Your tuition and other compulsory fees (as specified by NTU)
