The Medical Faculty of the University Basel and the University Hospital Basel are looking for a Professor in Medical Oncology in connection with the head of the university clinic in Medical Oncology from the 01.01.2023 or to another agreed upon date.
Context:
In September 2022, the position of the Professorship in Medical Oncology will be vacant through to the Retirement of the current job holder.
The Clinic for Medical Oncology provides an out-patient and stationary, oncological medical treatment in North West Switzerland. It also makes a significant contribution to cancer research and provides leading input in consulting and in national scientific research. The clinic enjoys a good national and international reputation.
The research orientation in connection with the professorship is open, however preferably with connections to pre-existing research groups in the Medical Faculty.
As the leader in the university clinic for Medical Oncology, you are responsible for an excellent patient care, for the continued development, for exemplary education, further education and advanced training as well as outstanding research in the medical faculty.
You have the title of specialist doctor for oncology. You are medically excellent with expertise in at least one organ-oncological and one method-oncological core subject. You have reported leading experience with an organizing talent and economic thinking. You are qualified as a professor or are able to present a qualification of equal value thanks to exemplary and internationally acknowledged research reputation in the field of oncology. You have an integrative personality and are able to inspire yourself to be involved in interdisciplinary and research oriented projects. You are open to actively cooperate with oncological orientated research groups as well as with other academic and industrial partners. You want to support student learning, future academics and the furthering of expertise in your co-workers.
