Chair (W3) of Cell and Molecular Biology of Plants at the Institute of Botany

You will represent the full range of the field in research as well as teaching in bachelor and master programs at the Faculty of Biology. We assume your willingness to teach in English and German and actively contribute to academic selfadministration. Active participation in transdisciplinary projects and close cooperation with non-university research institutions within DRESDEN-concept is highly appreciated.

We are looking for an internationally distinguished scientist with great potential for development, a strong profile in experimental research with connections to the faculty as well as the Dresden research community. Research topics of particular interest are for example interactions between plants and insects or microorganisms, secondary metabolism or chemical ecology or applying methods such as bioinformatics, genomics or molecular genetics. Apart from an excellent publication track record, we expect experience and specific didactical skills in teaching as well as a proven ability to acquire significant third-party funding. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG). This includes a completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude, special capability for scientific work, which is usually proven by the quality of a doctorate/PhD as well as further outstanding academic achievements. These can be demonstrated by a habilitation, a junior professorship or equivalent achievements.
