Position Description

Applications are invited to apply for the Sessional Instructor position teaching the Entrepreneurship & Innovation course in the Spring 2020 session. This semester runs from May 1, 2020 until June 30, 2020.

ENTI 405: New Venture Startup, Monday & Wednesday, 18:00-20:45, SH 268

This course is linked to a pedagogy research project. Students learn about venture startups from the context of a business ecosystem. The course engages students in a series of projects with consumers, entrepreneurs, city leaders and others, along with guest lectures. The goal is to experience a business ecosystem from multiple perspectives, with the goal of identifying strategies to successfully start a business. The research project will focus on the design and implementation of the student experiences, as well as the impact of the pedagogy on student learning.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with or interest in community-based project learning pedagogy is preferred
  • MBA degree or equivalent is required, and doctoral degree work would be preferred
  • Work experience in the field of entrepreneurship or business is preferred
  • Previous post secondary teaching experience is a requirement
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, high impact teaching methods is preferred
  • Willingness to support the research project activities through data collection is required
