Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Bioinformatics and Genomics
(position code 06-2021)
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join our international team in the Department of Tissue Morphogenesis of Prof. Dr. Ralf Adams (https://www.mpi-muenster.mpg.de/96841/adams).
Responsibilities
The project involves the characterisation of the molecular mechanisms regulating vessel tissue interactions. Using genome-wide gene expression, chromatin structure and transcription factor binding datasets, to investigate cellular and molecular heterogeneity of cells, including:
- Analysis of cell- and tissue-specific RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq datasets
- Investigation of protein-DNA interactions using ChIP-seq or cut-and-run
- Analysis of alterations in chromatin organization
- Integration of publicly available datasets relevant to the systems under study
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented postdoctoral fellow with a PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, (bio)-statistics, mathematics, or related fields, and with a strong drive to excel in a highly international and collaborative environment. Previous experience in genome-wide data analysis (e.g., RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, or ChIP-seq) will be a significant advantage. Please specify your level of proficiency in your cover letter.
Terms of employment
We offer you an interesting and varied job in an attractive and international environment with openness for new ideas.
The position is offered as a fixed-term appointment for two years with the possibility of further extension following a successful evaluation. Salary is in accordance with pay group 13 of the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD).
