We wish to recruit a postdoctoral scientist into the Department of Pathobiology and Population Sciences to work in the area of vaccine development. The post, funded for 3 years by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), will continue a collaboration between the RVC Parasitology and Molecular Immunology groups. The project will focus on the ongoing development of a yeast-based vaccine vector platform for use with poultry. Targeting Eimeria species parasites, cause of the disease coccidiosis, we aim to improve and validate an experimental vaccine, optimising vaccination processes and increasing understanding of the immune responses stimulated.

This post requires a postdoctoral scientist with a PhD in a relevant biological science, and experience in molecular biology and immunology. Proven ability to plan and carry out vaccination trials and previous experience of working with protozoan parasites and/or yeast will be advantageous.

For informal enquiries please contact Damer Blake (Professor of Parasite Genetics, Department of Pathobiology and Population Sciences) on +44 (0) 1707 666041 or email: dblake@rvc.ac.uk.
