The Karp Lab & Lee Lab at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Harvard Stem Cell Institute, and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology aims to rapidly advance next generation biomaterials, drug delivery and medical device engineering strategies through multidisciplinary approaches. The post-doctoral fellows will develop next-generation bio-medical innovations through highly multidisciplinary and translational approaches. The main goal of this position is to harness the unique attributes of biomaterials and devices to advance next generation oral drug delivery technologies. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for one or more of the following topics: (1) development of oral drug delivery formulations using novel biomaterials, (2) engineering micro-devices for oral delivery of drugs including biologics, and (3) development of tissue adhesives for surgical and other biomedical applications towards clinical translation. The candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills for assisting and collaborating with multidisciplinary groups of technology innovators and engineers, as well as biologists and clinicians, in a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications: PhD. in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacology, Mechanical Engineering or related degree. Ideally should have ample experience in one or more of the following topics: biomaterials, drug delivery, oral delivery formulations, nano- and micro-materials, small animal assessment of novel biomaterials, polymers, drug formulations or related experience.
