Fieldwork coordinator for ATHLETE project

The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in three main areas, Malaria and other Infectious Diseases, Child and Maternal Health, and Urban Health, Climate & Non-Communicable Diseases. What We Are Looking for:

ISGlobal is looking for a motivated fieldwork coordinator to support the daily development of the project entitled ATHLETE (Advancing Tools for Human Early Lifecourse Exposome Research and Translation). ATHLETE project has received funding from H2020 (grant agreement 874583) and aims to implement the exposome in birth cohorts in order to study the effects of a wide range of community-level and individual-level environmental risk factors on mental, cardiometabolic, and respiratory health outcomes and associated biological pathways during the first 2 decades of life.

Main duties and tasks:

The candidate will coordinate the fieldwork, which consists in visiting pregnant women at their homes and deploying devices to measure environmental variables such as air pollution and noise and collecting urine samples. These tasks are done by 4-5 fieldworkers, and the candidate will supervise and coordinate them.

Seconday tasks:

The candidate will need to coordinate the fieldwork with the nurses who recruit the women at hospitals. The candidate will also take care of the questionnaires, forms, material and devices needed for the fieldwork.
