Team EnGeneIC – Experienced Post-doctoral Fellows in Cancer Biology

We are seeking exceptional Post-doctoral Fellows in the area of cancer biology, particularly in relation to immunotherapy and the immune microenvironment in different tumours. The successful candidates will perform research on discovery and translational science to interface clinical development for treatment of cancer patients.

The Role:

The major focus of this role is for talented scientists who are able to plan, develop and execute biological assays, interpret the results, analyze the data, contribute to writing manuscripts and giving presentations, and support further research activities. Ability to work independently but within a very collaborative team environment is critical, as are strong written, communication and organizational skills. Specific responsibilities include:

• Conducting cell-based and molecular biology research including tissue culture, advanced multi-colour flow cytometry analyses, gene editing through CRISPR, and molecular biological techniques such as cloning and plasmid design and construction.

• Performing preclinical studies in mouse models of cancer including tissue processing and isolation and writing of proposals for EnGeneIC’s Animal Ethics Committee. Required Experience The essential requirement for these positions is a PhD in the field of Cell Biology/Immunology/Molecular Biology with a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience, as well as the following criteria:

• Experience, thorough knowledge of, and confidence in carrying out immunological techniques including ELISA, Immune cell culture, cancer cell culture and flow cytometry particularly in relation to immune cell populations and to determine immune mechanisms at work following in pre-clinical models and clinical trial subjects.

• Strong background in Molecular Biology techniques.

• Experience in culturing primary cancer cells from tissue biopsies and their characterization by techniques such as flow cytometry.

• Previous experience of 3D-culture or organoid culture and confocal and fluorescence microscopy is desired.

• Demonstrated ability to excel in hands on and technical laboratory skills. EnGeneIC Limited Other skills and conditions:

• Ability to follow safety procedures and EnGeneIC’s code of conduct.

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and excellent record-keeping. About EnGeneIC EnGeneIC is a clinical-stage biotechnology company which has developed a novel and targeted platform, EDVTMnanocells, for treatment of cancer and infectious diseases. For cancer, the nanocells are packaged with drug/nucleic acids and when delivered to tumour cells are not only cytotoxic to cancer cells but also have the potential to stimulate the patient’s immune system, resulting in an unprecedented two-pronged approach to attacking cancer. The EDV’s ability to be packaged with plasmids and adjuvants and to stimulate a unique immune pathway also makes it ideal as a vaccine for COVID 19 and other infectious diseases. This is a 2- year appointment at EnGeneIC’s lab in Sydney, Australia and there is scope for a permanent position with scope to grow if you prove to be the right person for the job and show an aptitude for creative thinking. Renumeration will be competitive and commensurate with experience. EnGeneIC will provide visa and relocation assistance for successful applicants from outside Australia. If you are excited about joining Team EnGeneIC, please forward your CV with a Cover letter discussing your interest in this position including statement of research interests and career goals criteria and the names of two referees to:
