Position Description

The Haskayne School of Business invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Strategic Analysis in the Master of Management program in the Spring 2020 session.

SGMA 672 Strategic Analysis in the Master of Management program

SMGA 672 Strategic Analysis will focus on the ways companies use strategy to create value across different businesses while keeping their competitive advantage temporary or transient in each business. The need to develop and implement effective strategy is more critical than ever because no company can take its competitive advantage for granted in today’s fast-paced global business environment.

This course is a 0.25 appointment. This position will be required to be available during the scheduled course time as well as for office hours, tutorials and other activities with students. This course also includes Curriculum Development which is a 0.18 appointment for the curriculum development for Strategic Analysis in the Master of Management program.

Course will run May 6 to June 29 during the Spring 2020 session.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a related discipline
  • Course development experience
  • Assessment of learning experience
  • Current, progressive work experience in strategy
  • Ideal candidates are currently working in the field professionally

This position will be expected to:

  • Develop course learning outcomes and appropriate assessments
  • Research appropriate resources to inform course development and identify potential resources
  • Research content and topics as they relate to the course outcomes
  • Complete the curriculum elements and create a proposed course outline
