The College of General Education provides a range of core courses common to all students of the University, in subject areas that support the academic structure of the undergraduate programs. The General Education Curriculum is designed around courses in mathematics, natural sciences, research methods, English communication, social sciences, humanities and the arts, aimed at developing students’ understanding of fundamental scientific concepts and their applications.
The College of General Education invites applications for a faculty position in Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting August 2024.
Preference will be given to candidates who have credentials from, or experience teaching in, English-speaking countries, and whose teaching dossier and research plan best qualify them to fulfil an interdisciplinary role in the Science Department.

Responsibilities
Your Commitment
Reporting to the Head of Department, the ideal candidate should be a creative and innovative individual with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in effective teaching, and with research accomplishments. The candidate will plan, develop, and deliver courses in Chemistry (such as General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Health Sciences Chemistry), and courses in General Science that support the General Education Curriculum. The Assistant Professor in Chemistry will work predominantly with first and second-year students of Engineering and Health Sciences.

Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
- A PhD degree in Chemistry or a related applied field from a recognized University (in North America, Western Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia or New Zealand).
- Minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching experience in higher education institutions.
