Mount Allison University
The Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies/Commerce Department at Mount Allison University invites applications for a full-time twelve-month term appointment in Commerce. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor and will commence on July 1, 2022, subject to budgetary approval. Responsibilities include teaching five undergraduate courses: first year Quantitative Analysis for Business Decision Making (counts as two courses) as well as three courses from a selection of quantitative and other business courses. Responsibilities may also include, but are not limited to, supervising undergraduate experiential learning student projects, advising students, and various departmental service activities.

Qualifications/Skills
- Candidates with a Ph.D. in Operations Management, Economics or a related discipline are preferred. Candidates with a Master’s Degree in a closely related discipline and extensive teaching experience will also be considered.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching and engagement.

Our Department
The Commerce Department offers undergraduates programs including a Bachelor of Commerce with an honours program, Bachelor of Arts in Commerce, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Aviation. Commerce students at Mount Allison University complete a minor in another discipline as well as degree requirements elsewhere in the university. Faculty contribute teaching to the core of the program and to their areas of expertise.
Faculty are research active with local, national and international collaborators and lead community-engaged research and experiential learning projects involving undergraduate students. Faculty members hold grants with Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation, and Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL).
Experiential learning has long been a distinguishing feature of the Commerce program with individual faculty members regularly designing and delivering course-related experiential and work-integrated learning opportunities ranging from guest speakers and field trips, knowledge mobilization projects, research and organizational quality assurance projects, live case studies, student summer research opportunities and case competitions, as well as mentorships and internships.
