The Institute of Biology of the Faculty of Life Sciences invites applications for a

 

Full Professorship for ‘Plant Physiology’ (W3)

 

starting 1 April 2025.

 

We are looking for an internationally renowned personality with a strong research profile and excellent potential in the field of plant physiology, who is involved in national and International research collaborations in the field of modern plant physiology.

 

Possible research fields in accordance with the announcement are: photobiology; research at the interface of developmental biology and physiology; synthetic plant biology; topology of physiological adaptations (e. g., phase separation phenomena, compartmentalization); plant-environment interactions with a focus on abiotic factors.

 

The research priorities of the Institute of Biology, “Optogenetics” and/or “Quantitative Biology in Space and Time,” are to be strengthened and expanded. The Institute of Biology and the Faculty of Life Sciences offer a stimulating and highly interdisciplinary research environment. Interactions with other natural sciences and non-university Institutes, as well as within the BUA (Berlin University Alliance) network, are explicitly desired.

 

The responsibilities include teaching in all relevant degree programs (Bachelor’s programs in Biology, Master of Education in Biology, Master of Quantitative Biology) and engagement in academic self-administration. The position also involves the management of the greenhouse.

 

The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz`.
