Eligibility
  • A bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or closely related) fields: biochemistry; bioengineering; pharmaceutical sciences; biomedical sciences; genetics; molecular biology; biotechnology; medicine; dentistry; or similar.
  • A bachelor (or master) degree equivalent to a European undergraduate degree (of 180 ECTS) in terms of general end-level of the qualification as well as academic focus.
  • A proven record of academic/extra-curricular excellence: e.g. GPA; research experience.
  • A strong motivation to pursue a career incorporating translational, biomedical sciences, and research.
  • A proven English proficiency in accordance with IMIM language requirements.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s Diploma or official Statement of Expected Graduation issued by your university.
  2. A transcript of Records or official Statement of Registration for the courses issued by your university.
  3. An English language test or proof of English test exemption (IELTS academic: 6.5, TOEFL IBT: 92, Cambridge English: C1 advanced or C2 professional with a minimum score of 180).
  4. A reference form filled out by the referee by this link: Here
  5. A curriculum Vitae.
  6. A passport.
  7. Proof of residence.
  8. A brief motivation letter of up to 1500 characters.

NOTES:

  • The deadline for sending English proof: February 15th, 2025.
  • Exemption from the English proof:
      1. The secondary education of applicant was fully educated in English in the following countries: USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada
      2. A full-time Bachelor’s degree (at least 3 years), taught in English in one of the following countries: USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada
      3. The applicant obtained a European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma including English as a medium of instruction (only if L1 and L2).
      4. The applicant has obtained a voorbereidend wetenschappelijk onderwijs (VWO) diploma in the Netherlands, including English as a subject (not applicable in Heidelberg).

Coverage The scholarship covers:

  • Participation fees (EUR 4500 or EUR 9000 depending on country of origin).
  • A monthly allowance of EUR 1400.
Note: The applicant needs to cover the expenses for travel and accommodation from the scholarship.
