●Outline of the open call

Our aim at TMDU is the realization of “total healthcare” across the globe and transcending the generations in the fields of “life and health sciences.” In order to achieve this goal, we are promoting university reforms including organization building, with the aim of producing excellent young researchers, as part of which, we are looking for young researchers who are ambitious and creative in their research. Applicants who were not selected in previous years are welcome to reapply if they have new accomplishments they would like to put forward.
Please note that the University is actively working to nurture female leaders. As part of the Positive Action*1 promoted by the Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office, we are planning to hire at least one female researcher, and we expect active applications from female researchers. *2

[Work content and job description] Those who are hired under this system will conduct research at the university as a tenure-track faculty member (equivalent to an associate professor or lecturer), and if they pass the tenure review based on their performance while working as a tenure-track faculty member, they may be eligible to work as a tenured faculty member (with a professorship or research professorship).*1

*1 The University employs a fixed term system (5-year contract subject to renewal based on performance review). Tenure track faculty members who successfully pass the tenure review are also subject to this system.

Applications can be made in any specialized field (including informatics, social medicine, nursing, clinical laboratory science, oral health science, etc.) as long as it is in the field of “life and health related sciences.”

7.Research environment
Successful applicants are permitted to use the shared Top Science Incubation Space (total: 201 m2) that is equipped with research space and basic research equipment, as well as a shared common space (total: 136 m2) with dedicated desks and meeting rooms. (Additional research space is being coordinated. Special equipment will be discussed separately.) In addition, the University is planning to provide a yearly research stipend of 5 million yen/year for four years from the year of employment.
