The MISSION Behavioral Health Lab at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (https://www.umassmed.edu/mbhlab/ ) has an immediate post-doctoral fellow position opening, and we are seeking a highly motivated individual to conduct substance use and mental health treatment research in specialty areas that include chronic pain, opioid use disorder, and homelessness.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work on exciting new projects studying treatment needs of individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, which will also include chronic pain. The candidate will be mentored by several Principal Investigators in the MISSION Behavioral Health Lab, division of Health Systems Science, and Department of Medicine. The person filling this position is expected to play an important intellectual, technical, and scientific role to support research endeavors in a team science atmosphere. The post-doctoral fellow will manage projects, assess patients, assist with grant writing, and write manuscripts under guidance of the Principal Investigators.

Qualifications

Applications are encouraged from doctoral level scientists interested in working in the areas of psychology, psychiatry, public health, mental health and/or substance use treatment, or chronic pain. Experience in substance use and/or mental health research and strong analytic skills are preferred. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment, pay close attention to details and adhere to deadlines regularly. Excellent communication, writing, and collaboration skills are essential. This position functions in a human subjects research laboratory.
