This program will offer practical hands-on training, focusing specifically on solar energy, as part of the health electrification project funded by the FCDO.
The main responsibilities of the trainees will include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing energy efficiency and conservation measures.
- Working with PV systems, both standalone and off-grid.
- Understanding and working with integrated systems.
- Properly sizing batteries, inverters, and charge controllers.
- Conducting measurements of current, voltage, and performance characteristics.
- Installing solar panels.
- Utilizing simulation software to design the dimensions of PV systems.
- Assessing the economic feasibility of sites using measured radiation data.
- Installing, integrating, and commissioning solar systems.
- Monitoring remotely and maintaining the systems.
Also, trainees will be expected to actively participate in daily activities under the guidance of their designated focal point. They will also take part in scheduled site visits, workshops, and supplementary training programs organized by SEforALL.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 35. Only female applicants will be taken into consideration.
- Recent graduates who have obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., sciences, renewable energy, engineering, or related areas) within the last two years. It is important to note that applicants who have not completed their degree program will not be considered.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in energy, engineering, or a similar field.
- Should provide evidence of completing technical education or relevant courses related to the program’s topics mentioned above.

- Must be present for the entire duration of the training program.
