Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre, Scenic and Lighting Designer

Position Summary:
The Department of Theatre at Susquehanna seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre in Scenic and Lighting Design. The successful candidate will teach three courses each semester including Scenic Production (scenic and lighting practical application class), Scenic and Lighting Design, Introduction to Theatre and Script Analysis. Co-curricular responsibilities include creation of scenic and lighting designs for the department’s five-show main stage season or supervision of student scenic and lighting designers, execution and implementation of scenic painting and lighting plots, and basic maintenance of lighting and sound systems. The successful candidate will be competent in computer-aided drafting and design software, scenic painting, and stage electrician skills. The MFA in Theatre with a concentration in scenic and/or lighting design is required, and three years of undergraduate teaching is preferred.
The Theatre Department at Susquehanna University is an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts program with emphases in Performance, Production & Design, and Theatre Studies.
