Assistant or Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy

The Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal (UdeM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to join its dynamic team of the occupational therapy programs in the School of Rehabilitation.

The successful applicant will work with a team of scholars committed to the development of occupational therapy and rehabilitation sciences. We welcome candidates who demonstrate interests for the principal domains of intervention in occupational therapy and can contribute to the advancement of the profession of occupational therapy through their research. As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the School of Rehabilitation.

Through your teaching and your research activities, you will ensure the visibility of your discipline in addition to actively participating in the operations of a renowned institution. As such, you will:

  • Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in occupational therapy
  • Teach and supervise graduate students in rehabilitation sciences
  • Pursue successful research activities in a field of expertise
  • Fulfill responsabilities in the department’s academic committees and services
  • Contribute to scientific and professional activities and the department’s visibility

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A portfolio ensuring eligibility to obtain a permit from the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec. A PhD in a discipline related to the field of rehabilitation or in a discipline related to occupational therapy.
  • Experience as an independent researcher or postdoctoral research training prior to the date of hiring.
  • University-level teaching experience or clinical practice experience in occupational therapy An excellent publication record.
  • An adequate knowledge of the French language written and spoken, or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance with the Université de Montréal’s Language Policy. An institutional learning support is offered to all professors wishing to learn French or improve their communication skills.
