Application and selection process

As of January 1, 2022, the University of Erfurt will award a total of up to 12 scholarships to doctoral candidates as part of the structured doctoral program.

The doctoral scholarships are awarded to promote excellent doctoral projects in the structured Erfurt doctoral and post-doctoral program of the certified junior colleges or the Max Weber College. Information on the junior colleges and the Max Weber College arehereto find.

The financial support of 1,400 euros per month is set up for three years and can be extended for a further year upon request.

The Theological Research College at the University of Erfurt is offering up to two doctoral grants for the winter semester 2021/22 as part of the European Graduate School for Research “Theology in Religious, Cultural and Political Processes of Transformation”.

The scholarships amounting to 1,500 euros per month are awarded for two years and can be extended for a third year if necessary. The announcement is particularly aimed at younger students (under 30 years of age) of all Christian denominations and students from abroad. The scholarship should start by January 1, 2022 at the latest.

The University of Erfurt awards 3-month graduation grants to doctoral candidates who are in the final phase of their doctorate and whose doctoral process has been opened at the University of Erfurt. The monthly grant is 1,000 euros.

Applications are possible at any time, the application documents are at nachwuchsfoerderung@uni-erfurt.deto judge.

Please note: From January 1st, 2021, until further notice, completion grants can only be awarded to persons who started a doctoral grant from the University of Erfurt (Christoph-Martin-Wieland or state graduate grant) before May 10th, 2018.

Initialization grants can be granted for a maximum period of 12 months. The scholarship is accompanied by application advice.
