The Institute of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Tartu is seeking to fill the post of a PhD/Doctoral researcher in Functional Analysis. The fixed-term position is scheduled for a duration of 4 years and the regular full employment time is 40 hours per week.
The successful candidate will join the research project “Extreme geometric structure of the unit ball in Banach spaces” headed by Dr. Johann Langemets (see also https://johannlangemets.wordpress.com/).
The position offers the opportunity to acquire a PhD in Mathematics.
Requirements: Candidates should hold a master’s (or equivalent) degree in mathematics and should have acquired basic knowledge in the field of Functional Analysis. Good command of written and spoken English is also expected.
Candidates are invited to submit their application (motivation letter, CV, transcript of academic records and copies of diplomas, brief summary of Master’s thesis (including pdf file of Master’s thesis if available) in a single PDF file no later than February 20, 2020 by e-mail to johann.langemets@ut.ee.
