Postdoctoral Position Hematopoietic Stem Cell Biology

A postdoctoral position is available at the Columbia Center for Human Development, Columbia University Medical Center, New York in the laboratory of Dr. Hans-Willem Snoeck (www.snoecklabstemcells.org). The project focuses on the role of mitochondrial dynamics, mitochondrial homeostasis and calcium regulation in the biology and aging of human and murine hematopoietic stem cells (see Luchsinger et al., Nature, 2016; and De Almeida et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2017, Luchsinger, Cell Stem Cell,). A minimum commitment of 4 years is required. The lab also focuses on the human lung development from pluripotent stem cells. Trainees will therefore be exposed in depth to both adult and pluripotent stem cell biology. MD and/or PhD degree required, expertise in stem cell biology, hematology, cell biology or bioinformatics desirable.
