This is an exciting opportunity to become Associate Professor in a world-leading research group focussed on mental health recovery, wellbeing and social inclusion. The post-holder will be an Associate Professor in the Recovery Research Team (RRT), which is led by Mike Slade, Professor of Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion. The current RRT portfolio comprises world-leading research studies on recovery narratives, Recovery Colleges, spirituality, identity in psychosis, social connectedness, peer support work and global mental health. The RRT is part of the School of Health Sciences, University of Nottingham. The post is located at the Institute of Mental Health on University of Nottingham Innovation Park. The Institute of Mental Health is a partnership between Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham.
The post will comprise operational management of existing RRT studies (40%), development of a new recovery-related research programme through significant grant income (40%) and a teaching contribution within the School of Health Science (20%). The post would particularly suit someone with a strong track record in an area relevant to mental health recovery, including broad mixed-methods research experience, a strong publications record, and a developing portfolio of competitive grant income. The ideal candidate for this role would be interpersonally skilled at working with a wide range of stake-holders specifically including people with lived experience of mental health problems, and have a deep understanding of mental health and recovery, including from personal / family experience.
This is permanent contract available for immediate start. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
