The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in stochastic processes, spatial statistics and/or modern nonparametrics, though strong candidates with specialties in closely related areas of statistics will be given full consideration. The ideal candidate will have the ability to integrate with existing research expertise in the department and to engage in applied research in collaboration with industry and other non-academic partners. The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics is a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary department of more than 40 faculty members with deep strength in optimization and with growing research clusters in astrophysics, data science, machine learning, and medical physics, as well as active engagement in the scholarship of teaching.
