Endowed Professorship in Clinical Cancer Immunotherapy – Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC)

The Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC) at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health invite applications from accomplished board-certified clinician-scientists to join our highly collaborative NCI-funded Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy Program. The appointment is available at either the Associate Professor or full Professor level, and an endowed Professorship is available to qualified candidates.

We seek an outstanding and collaborative individual with an established track record of innovative translational research focusing on immunotherapy and/or cell therapy clinical trials. This individual will work closely with other members of the Cancer Center’s interdepartmental Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy Research Program to expand a robust clinical trials portfolio of investigator-initiated immunotherapy studies, NCI Network (NCTN, ETCTN) trials, and industry-sponsored studies. A generous start-up package is available including extensive protected time to pursue laboratory and clinical research. Dartmouth has a long history of seminal discoveries in immunotherapy, including currently active trials of next-generation immune checkpoint inhibition, CAR T cell therapy, and cancer vaccines, as well as robust research programs in T cell memory, NK receptor-based CAR T cells, and the tumor microenvironment.

NCCC, one of 51 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, offers a dynamic and interactive research and clinical environment, with a commitment to research excellence commensurate with Dartmouth’s status as an R1 Doctoral University in the Carnegie Classification. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities, including a vibrant NCI-funded Immune Monitoring Shared Resource. The candidate’s research program will also benefit from thriving multidisciplinary Cancer Biology and Immunology graduate programs, as well as access to trainees within the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program. NCCC members also benefit from highly collaborative and collegial interactions across the entirety of Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System, inclusive of other departments at Geisel, the School of Arts & Sciences, the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, the Thayer School of Engineering and the Tuck School of Business. Candidates may also benefit from interactions with three current NIH Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBREs), a well-developed NCCC Office of Clinical Research, and access to Dartmouth’s supercomputing networks.

Qualifications:

Applicants for this position should possess an M.D., or M.D/Ph.D. degree (or equivalent), clinical board certification, outstanding scientific training and an established track record of research accomplishments in tumor immunology and immunotherapy. The prospective individual should also have extensive experience in the conduct of clinical trials and clinical expertise in immunotherapy and/or cellular therapy. Independent peer-reviewed grant funding is highly desirable, but not required.
