Programs of 1 st , 2 e and 3 e cycles offered by the Education and Research Unit (EBU) Managementof UQAT train professionals sought after by organizations for their diverse skills and competencies. Since the end of the 1980s, UQAT has stood out in accounting sciences by the excellent results obtained by its students in examinations of professional orders. The UQAT-UQAM Chair in Mining Entrepreneurship has made it possible to develop new dimensions and perspectives for research and management training at UQAT, including, among other things, a new exclusive specialization in management applied to the mineral industry integrated into the master’s in business administration (executive MBA). The EBU in management sciences has also stood out for several years by offering programs across Quebec thanks to its innovative, recognized and constantly growing distance training formula.

The Management Sciences Teaching and Research Unit wishes to fill the position of  :

REGULAR PROFESSOR OR REGULAR PROFESSOR IN  CERTIFICATION AND ADVANCED ACCOUNTING

FUNCTION:
The successful candidate must be able to cover the four aspects of the teaching task as defined in the collective agreement in force.

The duties related to the position will be: 

  • Teaching and supervision of 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles students according to their specialty and other areas of expertise.
  • The development and participation in various research projects in his specialty as well as in various related fields of specialization.
  • The development, evaluation and proper functioning of 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycle programs in management sciences and, where applicable, assume responsibility for programs.
  • Carrying out community service activities both internal and external to UQAT.

REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Hold a doctorate in a related discipline or discipline and hold a Canadian professional accountancy designation of CPA auditor.

Where

  • Hold a master’s degree in the discipline or a related discipline, hold a Canadian professional accountancy designation of CPA auditor and have at least five years of relevant professional experience in an accounting firm or in an organizational setting.

and in both cases,

  • Be fluent in oral and written French, with French being the working and teaching language.

OTHER CRITERIA CONSIDERED AS AN ASSET:

  • Showing an interest in the media coverage of teaching activities and distance training is a major asset.
  • Have training or experience in university or post-secondary pedagogy.
  • Have made written or oral communications of a professional or scientific nature.
  • Professional experience in certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Team of versatile and dynamic teachers who demonstrate mutual aid and collaboration. The size of the groups favors the establishment of privileged relations with the students.

SALARY:  The salary is established according to the qualifications and experience of each candidate according to the collective agreement in force.
