IBRAF SOUTH-SOUTH AND TRIANGULAR COOPERATION (IFP) SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, BRAZIL

The IBRAF SOUTH-SOUTH AND TRIANGULAR COOPERATION (IFP) SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM aims to bridge the gap between studying and engaging in international cooperation, bringing academics and professionals to hands-on experiences in Brazil to explore , understand and disseminate good practices and socio-economic development projects.

IFP will offer professors, doctoral students, master’s students, specialists, undergraduates and professionals the opportunity to gain practical experience within an international and non-governmental organization actively engaged in international cooperation. Through the exchange of know-how between fellows and IBRAF – as well as its partner institutions – the program aims to empower the next generation of decision-makers in Brazil and Africa.

The program seeks to develop participants’ capacities in terms of critical thinking, problem solving and crisis management. Visiting fellows will produce specific deliverables during their stay, in the form of briefing notes (to map best practices), research papers, situation analyzes, opinion pieces (to create academic products ) and seminars (to display sustainable solutions).

KEY ZONES

Trade and investment in the South Atlantic

Technical cooperation and capacity building

Economic and sustainable development

Demography, urbanization, housing and public health

Agriculture, agribusiness and rural development

HOW IT WORKS

IBRAF will provide institutional support for all the aforementioned activities, at its headquarters in Fortaleza and through the offices of partner organizations throughout Brazil and on the African continent.

The IFP has the capacity to receive several fellows at the same time, with sufficient space to work and live. They will each be engaged in one of the three cycles for a set period, rotating after the end of each activity.

Professionals and researchers will receive, at the end of the program, an academic certificate issued by the Brazil Africa Institute with the required accreditation, as well as the title of alumni.

At the end of each year, IBRAF will produce a publication, in the form of a book or e-book, to review, compile and systematize all the knowledge produced by the fellows of the specified period.

IBRAF, seeking to foster academic production, will encourage an out-of-court competition, and the best and most outstanding research project in the scholarship program will receive a space at the Brazil Africa Forum to present its results.
