The program is aimed at professionals in the health sciences (medicine, nursing or paramedical technicians) who are interested in learning or perfecting their technique in resuscitation. Fifth semester students in front of the aforementioned areas may also participate.

REQUIREMENTS: The applicant must be over 18 years old and under 65 years old, have a minimum average of technical, undergraduate or graduate grades of 3.7 / 5.0 and preferably have at least 1 year of professional experience (That is, after having obtained the university degree) in subjects related to health sciences.

NOTES:
1. Applications that have not been submitted through ICETEX will not be considered.

Program objectives

Properly carry out the initial approach of the patient who is in Cardiorespiratory Arrest (CPA) in the out-of-hospital context.

Program content

  • Theory about the chain of survival, definition and causes of Cardiorespiratory Arrest.
  • Theory about the sequence and maneuvers to be performed (Compression and ventilation).
  • Theory on the use of the automated external defibrillator.
  • Theory about the recovery or safety position.
  • Theory on the management of foreign body airway obstruction.
  • Practical skills of the sequence and maneuvers that are carried out for the management of a Cardiorespiratory Arrest. (Compression and ventilation).
  • Practical skills in the use of the automated external defibrillator.

2. International course to be run online, with a total duration of 10 hours. The academic program requires a dedication of 6 theoretical hours plus 4 hours of practice.

An opening and closing session of the course is included synchronously (live) using the Zoom platform, lasting one hour each.

3. The executors of the International Course will inform those selected of the result on September 27, 2021and later they will make contact by email with each selected, according to the contact information provided in the application form, to coordinate the procedures corresponding to their participation.

4. Teachers will evaluate the performance of each student, through online theoretical tests. The evaluation considers:

  • 1 Theoretical test (online) 30%
  • 1 Video evaluation 70%

The approval and certification of learning, students must have duly fulfilled the following academic requirements:

  • Achieve course evaluations with a minimum mark of 4.0 (with a 60% requirement).
  • Comply with 100% of the practical hours to pass the program.

Note: Individuals who do not meet the approval requirement will not receive any type of certification. In the case of online programs, students will have to meet the minimum score of 4.0 and meet the requirements established for each program.

5. The result of the selection will be published on the AGCID website, www.agci.cl for the information of all interested parties. NOTE: only those selected will be notified to your email.
