About us: Sapient

We are a social enterprise catalyzing sustainable actions with environmental and social impact in our society, through multiple projects and collaborations. Sapient Social & Environmental Enterprises was established in 2016 and consists of a team of bright and inspired young individuals from around the world who are dedicated to ending food waste, renewing democracy, providing local solutions to green energy and to help other social enterprises on their way. to a positive impact. 

About the project: Food Circle

Food Circle is one of Sapient’s projects aimed at bringing together organizations that fight against food waste in Amsterdam. Food Circle’s main tasks are to support these organizations on social media and help them recruit volunteers for their events. Currently, we are also developing an entertaining and educational card game called Zero Waste Chef which aims to raise awareness about food waste, in a fun way.

About the team

The Sapient team is made up of team-oriented, goal-oriented, proactive, independent and open-minded people. We work both as a team and individually, and therefore we are looking for like-minded individuals to join our team. 

To keep the team spirit during the COVID-19 period, we have team meetings at least once a week, and once a month we have Sapient Days with fun activities both online and offline in order to welcome new interns (Padawans) and strengthen our sense of belonging.

About the position: fundraiser 

We are looking for an organized Fundraising Intern to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, improvement and innovation of our existing fundraising process. Although our main goal is not profit, we need sources of income to help our missions and projects  (such as Compost or Zero Waste Chef Project  ) to grow and develop.

Your tasks will include:

  • Search for foundations, competitions, grants for start-up or non-profit initiatives and other opportunities that can bring our organization any type of benefit – workshops, advertising, financial support and others.
  • Apply in time for foundations and competitions.
  • Suggest or help create collaborations and partnerships 
  • You will be responsible for improving existing methods of fundraising for Sapient, as well as researching and developing new ones.

  • Fluency in English and  preferably Dutch  , language and writing skills,

Course details:

Currently we are looking for a new intern to join us from August for a minimum of 3 months (minimum of 4 months during summer periods).

Unfortunately the internship is not remunerated, however you can choose the duration that suits you best (minimum of three months). You can also choose your own full-time or part-time working hours as long as you strictly follow your schedule. 

Due to Corona restrictions, it is possible to work remotely for some positions. It is also possible to work from our office Ferdinand Huyckstraat 62, 1061 HW Amsterdam.
