The KTH scholarship covers the full tuition fees of a one- or two-year master’s program. Each year around 30 newly admitted students receive the scholarship. The scholarship program emphasizes academic excellence and sustainable development, encouraging students to contribute to a more sustainable society.
Content of the grant
The KTH scholarship covers tuition fees at KTH for the first and second years, provided that the results of the study during the first year are satisfactory. The scholarship does not include living expenses.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a paying student and have applied for a master’s program at KTH as a top priority. Students eligible for conditions are also eligible for the scholarship. KTH scholarships are not available for applicants to the Erasmus Mundus and EIT programs.
Sustainable development
Sustainable development is an integral part of KTH’s operations and spirit . During your stay at KTH, you will acquire the tools necessary to evolve society in a more sustainable direction. Consequently, scholarship applicants must describe how they intend to contribute to sustainable development with a master’s degree in KTH.

Selection process
The scholarship is awarded mainly on the basis of academic excellence and the selection process is undertaken in parallel with the admission process. Only applicants who meet the admission requirements for the requested program are eligible for a scholarship. Once applicants have been assessed for admission, an assessment of scholarship applicants is made based on the following criteria:
- The candidate’s marks (GPA or equivalent)
- The classification of the university which awarded the candidate’s baccalaureate
- Motivation of the candidate, relevant professional experience and extracurricular activities
- The recommendation of the director of the master’s program applied to KTH
- The motivation of the candidate how he will contribute to the objectives of sustainable development with a master’s degree in KTH

Applicants for the master’s program in molecular techniques in life sciences and the master’s program in university training in aeromechanics in turbomachinery (THRUST) must apply for the KTH scholarship, not for the KTH Joint Program Scholarship.
