Industrial Professor in Applied Innovation

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta seeks a candidate for an Industrial Professor position in the general area of innovation.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in an engineering discipline, is licensed or is eligible to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta, has demonstrated the ability to engage and motivate undergraduate students in classroom and laboratory environments, and has experience in supporting experiential learning opportunities for student innovation teams, including early stage student start-up businesses.

Ideally, the successful candidate has experience in industry and business, has knowledge of or experience in entrepreneurship, has a strong commitment to experiential learning and diversity in teams, and is dedicated to building a community of practice in the Edmonton region.

It is expected that the successful candidate will have experience and demonstrated expertise in teaching at the post-secondary level, and a passion for teaching both introductory and senior design project courses.
